This television "News" intro is an example of what  is called "motionography" or motion graphics. It is a very complex animation involving colored lights, volume lights, animated geometry, reflective materials, music track and strong compositional skills. Notice the "HDTV" format.

The concept of negative and positive space is critical in this project. Generally speaking,negative space refers to the areas surrounding the objects in the scene. The objects (numbers, letters,spheres etc.) are considered "positive" space. If the negative space is greater than the positive space then your composition looks weak. Make sure your positive elements "dominate" the scene.
