Creature Modeling for Video Games and FIllm, Parts I & II are designed to teach you the basics of human & animal anatomy and how to use this knowledge to sculpt in clay and model on a computer, creatures for film and video production. Creature modeling compliments SoCalROC's cosmetology program for those students seeking a career in special effects make-up. Studio's typically hire sculptors to create models of characters during the pre-production stage of a film or video game.

The models you create in this class can be used in your portfolio or reel when you present a portfolio to be accepted into a college or other program offering degrees or certificates in video game design.

Part I students will complete: an ogre portrait, a three fingered and one thumb creature hand, a 12 inch zombie creature maquette all using clay. They will also complete a 3D computer figure using software called 3D Max.

Part II students will complete: A wolfman portrait and a minotaur figure in clay. And a creature face using a computer program called Sculptris.
